Industry veteran to lead area’s largest all-suite convention hotel
ORLANDO, Fla. (August 13, 2020) – Caribe Royale Orlando, Central Florida’s largest all-suite convention hotel located in the heart of the nation’s number one convention and tourist destination, has appointed Amaury Piedra as managing director.
Piedra is a bilingual hospitality industry professional with 25 years of sales and operations experience leading Four Diamond lifestyle hotels, convention hotels, and multi-unit complexes in the U.S. and Caribbean, including properties for Wyndham Hotels and Resorts and Starwood Hotels and Resorts. Most recently, Piedra was an award-winning general manager at the Pier Sixty-Six Hotel & Marina in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, where he was part of the development team for the property’s renovation and expansion. His industry leadership includes serving as a board member of the Greater Miami Convention and Visitors Bureau, member of the Greater Fort Lauderdale Convention and Visitors Bureau’s Marketing Committee, and founding chair of the Fort Lauderdale Beach Business Improvement District, where he played a key role in launching the inaugural Tortuga Music Festival on Fort Lauderdale Beach.
“Amaury’s decades of experience with upscale, luxury and convention hotel management, his involvement in renovation and expansion development, and his leadership in the convention and visitors bureau industry are a winning combination for us,” said Sierra Lodgings Group, Inc.’s CEO Dan Kaplan.
“I’m thrilled to join the Caribe Royale team,” added Piedra. “It’s a dream to manage an independent upscale hotel as unique as this one with its all-suite accommodations, versatile meeting spaces and heartfelt commitment to customer service that leaves a lasting impression.
